Today, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki responded to a question about the new facilities being built to house more migrant children – separated from their parents – something that Biden and Democrats have been unjustly critical of Trump for, as the “cages” that adorned the pages of the New York Times were proven to be built and administered by the Obama administration (fake news which spread so widely that most people still believe that Trump was the one who built the cages).
First, listen to this absolutely crazy question from Psaki (and note the little smirk she has, as she knows the answer that she will get from the press):
“First, there’s a pandemic going on. I’m sure you’re not suggesting that we have children right next to each other in ways that are not COVID-safe, are you?”

Clearly the answer to her ignorant question should have been:
“YES! That’s EXACTLY what I’m suggesting! The science has been very clear on this for MANY MONTHS – kids are at effectively ZERO risk from COVID. The common flu is a much greater risk to kids – and in fact anyone under the age of 20. Are you going to use the common flu as your excuse for keeping these kids in cages next year?”
Now watch the whole segment (3 mins) and recognize how absolutely ludicrous it is for the Biden administration to use COVID as an excuse for “caging” more kids – as children are at effectively zero risk from COVID.
This is not kids being kept in cages. This is kids – this is a facility that was opened that is going to follow the same standards of other HHS facilities. It is not a replication, certainly not, that is never our intention of replicating the immigration policies of the past administration.

But we are in a circumstance where we are not going to expel unacompanied minors at the border. That would be inhumane. That is not what we are going to do here as an administration. We need to find places that are safe, under COVID protocols, for kids to be, where they can have access to education, mental services consistent with their best interests.
Our goal is for them to then be transferred to families or sponsors. So this is our effort to ensure that kids are treate- that kids are not in close proximity and are abiding by health and safety standards that the government has been set out.
Anyone who is not completely brainwashed with anti-scientific COVID fear porn understands exactly how ridiculous this excuse is.
